Also, this is not a plane for a beginner. Mount the biggest engine you can find on the front and watch it soar skyward! haha. The real Super Stearman didn't have an unlimited vertical, so why should this one? Of course, if you're like my brother, it doesn't matter. This is a scale airplane and therefore I feel that it should be flown scale. And as for the weak landing gear blocks, it's an easy fix, and if you practice your landings so you touch down nice and smooth every time, then you'll have nothing to worry about. There is nothing about this biplane that would lead someone to think that it should have any bad flying characteristics. The added nose weight really is not going to cause this biplane to fly badly. Here is a thread that talks about that:Īs for the plane being tail heavy, well the thread above says the same thing that I've mentioned before. I've not read anywhere about any bad flying tendencies other than the pilot slowing down too much on landing and stalling the bipe. I've read lots of complaints about both of these, but I'll try to put things into perspective. The two main things that I've heard are that the tail is heavy and the landing gear blocks need beefing up. Although, I'm not sure what all you've read about the Midwest Super Stearman. My dad has one that I've flown and it flies great. The Sig Hog Bipe is definitely a good biplane.
